SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane, Wash., woman has donated her collection of 1,600 Beanie Baby dolls to police to use during traumatic situations with young children.

Officer Ryan Snider showed off a selection of the toys, noting Spokane police usually have bigger, uglier stuffed animals they give to children in situations like car crashes or the arrest of a parent.

KXLY reports the donor wants to remain anonymous.
