NOVE MESTO, Czech Republic (AP) — Tora Berger of Norway overcame three penalty laps to win a biathlon World Cup pursuit race on Sunday for her second victory of the season.

She completed the 10-kilometer course in 31 minutes, 0.3 seconds in snowy conditions to claim her 14th career win.

Helena Ekholm of Sweden finished 17.9 seconds behind in second place and Marie Laure Brunet of France was 25.1 seconds back in third, with both skiers shooting flawlessly.

Overall World Cup leader Magdalena Neuner of Germany made the rare mistake of shooting at the wrong target at the third shooting round and had to settle for eighth.

Neuner leads overall with 588 points, followed by Darya Domracheva of Belarus on 531.
