CHAUX-NEUVE, France (AP) — Alessandro Pittin of Italy beat Jason Lamy Chappuis of France in a photo finish Saturday, his second Nordic combined World Cup victory in two days.

Pittin was 22nd after the ski jump but worked his way up in the 10-kilometer cross-country race. He then won a three-way sprint to finish in 22 minutes, 48.6 seconds.

The Italian climbed to second place in the overall standings, 202 points behind Lamy Chappuis.

Fabian Riessle of Germany finished third, 0.1 second behind Pittin. Haavard Klemetsen leaped 111.5 meters to lead after the jumping portion but the Norwegian faltered in cross-country and placed 10th.

Another Nordic combined event in Chaux-Neuve is scheduled for Sunday.
