01-15 HOLIDAY CLOSURES -MLK

What’s open and what’s closed on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

• GARBAGE: Waste Connections will operate on its regular schedule. In Camas, normal Monday pickups will be performed Tuesday.

• MAIL: Post offices closed. No home delivery except for Express Mail. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

• PUBLIC SCHOOLS: No classes.

• COLLEGES: No classes at Clark College or Washington State University.

• PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Closed.

• BUSES: C-Tran buses follow reduced service schedule. TriMet buses follow special schedules. MAX, WES and Portland Streetcar follow regular schedules.

• GOVERNMENT: Offices closed; Washington Legislature in session.

• PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver free.

• BANKS: Most closed. Some in-store branches may be open.

• FINANCIAL MARKETS: U.S. markets closed.

• DRIVER LICENSING: Offices closed.

• VEHICLE LICENSING: Closed.

• EMISSIONS TESTING: Stations closed.

• CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES: Offices open. For 24-hour customer service, call 360-992-3000. For outages or emergencies, call 360-992-8000.

• LIQUOR STORES: Most state-operated stores open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington open.

• FORT VANCOUVER NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE: Open noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Fees are waived both days.

• FEDERAL RECREATION SITES: Day-use fees are waived at most U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management sites in Washington and Oregon on Sunday and Monday. SnoPark permits are required.

• FIRSTENBURG COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• MARSHALL COMMUNITY CENTER: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• ZOO: Oregon Zoo open.

• WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Mall open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• THE COLUMBIAN: Offices open regular hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Circulation lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
