Boston U. beats Albany (NY) 70-57 in America East

BOSTON (AP) — D.J. Irving scored 17 points and had six assists and Darryl Partin added 15 points and five assists as Boston University defeated Albany (N.Y.) 70-57 Monday night for the Terriers’ fourth straight win.

Boston U. (8-11, 4-1 America East Conference), which embarked on its winning streak after a seven-game skid, jumped out to a 10-2 lead. After the Great Danes pulled ahead 21-17, the Terriers went on a 36-9 spree spanning both halves to build a 53-30 lead with 10:33 to play.

Albany (12-8, 4-2), which came in having won two straight and five of its last six, could get no closer than 10 from there.

Patrick Hazel added eight points and five blocked shots for the Terriers.

Logan Aronhalt led the Great Danes with 20 points while Gerardo Suero, who ranked fourth nationally with 22.4 points per game, scored only six on 1-for-10 shooting, including 0-for-4 from long range.
