HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Private Jet won the $60,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint on Sunday in his U.S. debut, returning from a long layoff to beat Great Attack by a length.

Private Jet, a 7-year-old gelding ridden by John Velazquez, ran five furlongs in 55.48 and paid $20.20, $7.20 and $3. Private Jet won five of 10 starts in South Africa, then was sidelined in September 2010 because of breathing problems. Giant Attack returned $2.80 and $2.10, and Little Nick paid $2.40 to show.
