FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) — Police expect a 6-year-old boy struck by an SUV in Forest Grove will recover.

Police say the boy was walking with an adult about 6 p.m. Monday and went ahead to a crosswalk where he was hit. He was taken to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.

An officer cited the 33-year-old Forest Grove driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian and driving with a suspended license.

Police said weather did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
