CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers starting guard Anthony Parker will miss his first game this season with a sore lower back.

Parker injured his back during Monday’s loss in Charlotte, the Cavs’ final stop on a seven-game road trip. He will not dress for Tuesday night’s game against Golden State. The 36-year-old Parker, who re-signed as a free agent with the team in training camp, had started Cleveland’s first 12 games this season.

He will be replaced by Daniel Gibson as Cavs coach Byron Scott will use a different starting lineup for the first time in 13 games.

Scott said the team plans to “take it slow” with Parker’s injury.

Parker’s averaging 6.4 points in 23.8 minutes.
