Florida A&M defeats South Carolina State 86-69

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Amin Stevens scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Florida A&M over South Carolina State 86-69 on Monday night.

The Rattlers (4-15, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) also got 18 points from Reggie Lewis. Lewis was 7 of 15 from the field, with all of his baskets coming from behind the 3-point arc. Lewis made all of Florida A&M’s 3-pointers, as the Rattlers shot 50 percent from long range.

Nathaniel Drayton chipped in 10 points for Florida A&M, which snapped a two-game skid and won for just the second time in 10 games.

The Rattlers attempted 17 more shots than South Carolina State (75-58), making nine more (37-28).

Brandon Riley led the Bulldogs (4-14, 0-5) with 16 points. Omar Sanders and Khalif Toombs added 13 points each and Luka Radovic chipped in 10 for South Carolina State, which dropped its 12th straight.
