Nets sign F Owens, waive F Horner

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey Nets have signed forward Larry Owens and waived forward Dennis Horner.

General manager Billy King announced the moves on Wednesday.

Owens has been playing for the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League. He has appeared in 12 career NBA games during the 2010-11 season with San Antonio and Washington, averaging 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds.

He’s averaging 13.2 points, 5.2 rebounds this season with Tulsa.

Horner, a rookie from North Carolina State, signed with the Nets before training camp from the their D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor. He scored four points in five games with New Jersey this season.
