ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Charles Hinkle scored 17 points and Daniel Munoz made four free throws in the final 1:06 to help American University defeat Navy 67-60 Wednesday night in a Patriot League game.

The Eagles (12-7, 3-1) led 38-22 at halftime and by as many as 25 points, 49-24, after back-to-back 3-pointers by Hinkle and John Schoof.

The Midshipmen (3-15, 0-4) trimmed the lead to 61-50, then used an 8-1 run to make it 62-58 with 1:15 left. J.J. Avila, who led Navy with 24 points, had six points during the run.

Munoz, who finished with 13 points, then sank two free throws. After a jumper by Navy’s Jordan Sugars, Munoz sank two more for a 66-60 lead with 24 seconds left, and Navy was unable to score again.
