Oregon warns of road problems

Here is a bulletin from the Oregon Department of Transportation:

UPDATE: I-84 open east of Biggs

All lanes of I-84 in both directions east of Biggs are now OPEN.

ODOT: Oregon Highway Status Report: 3:30p 1/18/2012

You must carry chains with you in ALL mountain passes; please be prepared to use them.

Be alert for fallen trees, debris, mudflows and landslides; be prepared for delays and road closures.

Portland metro area All state highways OPEN

North/Central coast, Central Willamette Valley

o U.S. 101 (Oregon Coast Highway) is OPEN but high water (about 4 inches) is reported at Beerman Creek just south of Seaside (mp 23); increase in depth may require travel restrictions

o OR 18 (Salmon River Highway) will remain CLOSED OVERNIGHT between six miles east of Otis and Grand Ronde (mp 6.5–21). Earliest estimated reopening is late Thursday 1/19/2012, depending on wind and safety conditions

Southern Oregon All state highways OPEN

Central Oregon

o I-84 (Columbia River Highway) eastbound is CLOSED east of Biggs, near Quinton (mp 123) due to crash; one lane of westbound is OPEN

Eastern Oregon All state highways OPEN
