TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Curtis Dennis scored 18 points and Toledo routed Northern Illinois 71-41 in a Mid-American Conference game Wednesday night to snap a three-game overall skid and a four-game losing streak in the series.

The Rockets’ winning margin was their largest over a MAC team since an 88-58 win over Eastern Michigan on Jan. 26, 2006.

The Huskies’ 41 points also were the fewest Toledo (9-9, 1-3) has allowed in a league game since beating Bowling Green 53-41 on Jan. 31, 1998.

Northern Illinois stayed close early, with four ties and four lead changes.

Toledo pulled ahead for good at 12-11 with 12:09 to go until halftime, and built a 37-18 lead by the break.

Reese Holiday added 11 points and Dominique Buckley 10 for Toledo.

The Huskies, coming off a 74-66 win over Central Michigan, had 23 turnovers and were led by Stian Berg and Keith Gray with eight points apiece.
