Police on Thursday arrested a 24-year-old driver who allegedly hit a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and fled the scene.

The accident occurred about 6:35 p.m. Jan. 9 at East Fourth Plain Boulevard and Neals Lane, near Evergreen Park.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department.

Officers found the vehicle Jessica Pyper allegedly drove unoccupied in a nearby parking lot.

Pyper also spells her name Piper, the bulletin said.

Those who know where Pyper is are asked to call Officer Steve Donahue at 360-772-2376.
