DeLand, Fla. (AP) — Brett Comer had 24 points to pace five double-figure scorers for Florida Gulf Coast in a 92-85 win over Stetson on Friday night for the Eagles’ third win in their last four games.

Dante Holmes added 14 points, Christophe Varidel 12, Sherwood Brown 11 and Bernard Thompson 10 for the Eagles (9-10, 5-4 Atlantic Sun Conference).

It was a back-and-forth contest, with the Hatters leading 53-52 with 14:02 left to play, before Florida Gulf Coast broke out from that juncture. Florida Gulf Coast’s five leading scorers each got buckets in succession in a two-minute span, with Holmes and Brown knocking down a 3-pointer apiece to bookend the spree.

Overall, the Eagles put together a 14-2 run over a four-minute span in the second half to pull away from the Hatters.

Adam Pegg also scored 24 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Stetson (7-12, 4-5), which has lost three straight.
