GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Charlie Reddick had 16 points and 14 rebounds as Furman pulled away from Georgia Southern for a 64-54 Southern Conference victory Thursday night.

Brandon Sebirumbi added 16 points for the Paladins (9-9, 3-4).

The game was close for 15 minutes, with five ties and six lead changes. Tied 23-23, Furman closed out the first half on a 12-2 run and opened the second with a 7-0 spurt to lead by 17 with 16:55 remaining.

But Furman would not score for the next 7:04 as the Eagles cut the deficit to five points.

Reddick’s 3-pointer ended the drought and Bryson Barnes scored Furman’s next five points to stretch the lead to 11.

After Georgia Southern (6-11, 4-3) got to 50-44 with 5:36 left, Bobby Austin hit a 3 and Barnes a jumper en route to giving the Paladins a 23-22 lead in the series.

Eric Ferguson’s 15 points led the Eagles.
