HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — John Brandenburg scored 17 points, including six in overtime, when Colgate outscored Navy 13-2 on the way to a 65-54 Patriot League victory on Saturday.

Brandenburg made 6 of 8 shots for the Raiders (6-13, 1-4), who snapped their eight-game losing streak while handing Navy its 12th consecutive defeat.

The losing streak for the Midshipmen (3-16, 0-5) tied the program’s third longest ever, and their seventh straight home loss matched their longest such streak.

Navy led 30-24 after Brandon Venturini scored all 11 of his points in the first half, and the Midshipmen kept the lead throughout the second half until Mitch Rolls’ 3-pointer for Colgate tied it 52-52 with 7 seconds left in regulation.

Sterling Melville’s jumper 25 seconds into overtime started a 12-0 Colgate run that put the game away.

Mike Venezia added 13 points for Colgate.

J.J. Avila led Navy with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
