Cooper Spur opens for season

HOOD RIVER — Cooper Spur Ski Area on the north side of Mount Hood opened for the season today.

The resort will open with 36 inches of settled base snow plus much more loose snow from the past few days. There is one main lift, a beginner rope tow and two tubing tows.

The operating schedule is noon to 6 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Chairlift tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for juniors ages 7 to 14 and seniors age 65 and older and $5 for youth age 6 and younger. Ski and board rentals are $15 for all ages. Skiing and snowboarding lessons also are offered.
