BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — Customers of Puget Sound Energy who are without power for five full days are entitled to a $50 credit on their bill.

Spokeswoman Gretchen Aliabadi said Monday that those people should contact customer service. She says that’s likely to add to the expense of the snow and ice storm outage that already is costing the utility tens of millions of dollars.

As of late Monday afternoon, 39,000 Western Washington homes and businesses remained without power from last week’s storms. Most of the remaining outages are in King, Pierce and Thurston counties.

The utility says it has restored power to more than 370,000 customers. About 280 line crews worked on repairs Monday. The utility says it will keep working round the clock to restore power.

The storm repairs are likely to be costly. However,Aliabadi says it will likely take months to tally up all the invoices from about 200 out-of-state line crews.
