STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — The Penn State football team is paying its respects to the late Joe Paterno.

Members of the team arrived at a university spiritual center shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, a few hours before the public viewing began for the Hall of Fame coach.

The players filed out of blue buses and into the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center wearing coats and ties. The same buses have carried Paterno and the team to Beaver Stadium before games on fall Saturdays.

The public viewing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and continue Wednesday, before a private funeral that afternoon.

Paterno died Sunday, just over two months after being fired by the school in the wake of a child sex abuse scandal involving former assistant Jerry Sandusky.
