Sen. Nelson of Pendleton won’t seek re-election

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) — State Sen. David Nelson of Pendleton announced Monday he won’t run for a fifth term.

Since 1996, he has represented the 29th District, which includes Umatilla, Morrow, Union and Wallowa counties.

The East Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/m2bWlB ) reports he has been a voice for Eastern Oregon water, agriculture and technology issues in the Legislature.
