Woodland High School received an achievement award for overall excellence this week. The award came from Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn and the State Board of Education.

The school was one of 275 around the state to receive an achievement award. The awards are based on the annually calculated achievement index, which factors in graduation rates and student performance in key subjects, while also considering a school’s demographics.

The award is part of an accountability program adopted in 2009.

Woodland High School and the other recipients will be honored at a ceremony April 25 at Mariner High School in Everett.
