LAS VEGAS (AP) — A brother in Seattle says volunteers and police are continuing to search the craggy nooks of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas for a missing 46-year-old man who was last seen more than a week ago.
Darrell Kirk tells The Associated Press that Ronald Kirk sent a text message Jan. 16 or Jan. 17 saying it was a warm day and he was going hiking in Las Vegas.
Ronald Kirk was reported missing Sunday. Police say they don’t suspect foul play.
The search has focused since Monday around where Kirk’s vehicle was found in the rugged Calico Basin area west of Las Vegas.
Darrell Kirk says a police helicopter, running club members on foot and another brother in Las Vegas haven’t found any trace of him.
