Riley leads No. 23 BYU women past Seattle, 69-55

SEATTLE (AP) — Kristen Riley had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead three scorers in double figures as No. 23 Brigham Young cruised to its eighth straight victory, 69-55 over Seattle on Wednesday night.

Kim Parker added 15 points and Stephanie Vermunt had 14 for the Cougars (19-3), who were playing for the first time since breaking into the AP’s top 25 this week. The last time BYU was in the rankings was at No. 22 on Dec. 2, 2006.

Ashley Ward scored 18 points to lead the Redhawks (12-9). Kacie Sowell had 15 points and 16 rebounds, and Elle Kerfoot added 11 points.

BYU had a 36-22 lead at halftime, scored the first four points of the second half, and Seattle never got closer than the final margin of 14 after that.
