Central Park — The Steampunk Crew, a student club at Clark College, hosted a Friday the 13th Masquerade Ball on Jan. 13. The dance was well-attended, and club leaders said everyone enjoyed themselves.

The club, founded in the spring of 2011, promotes the steampunk genre, a mixture of fantasy, science fiction, and Victorian styles in clothing and technology. Besides hosting events and workshops, the club socializes with other steampunk clubs such as the Portland Steampunk Society and the Rose City Steampunks.
