MIAMI (AP) — The last time Eddy Curry was on the floor with the New York Knicks, he lasted about three minutes and his team got outscored by 11 points.
That was December 2009. He never played for New York again.
Curry signed with the Miami Heat this past December, saying one of his motivations in trying to return to the NBA was a chance to show the Knicks he could still play.
He’s toned down the rhetoric and his body plenty since. Curry says he’s 35 pounds since the start of training camp. He’s appeared in three games for Miami, and hopes to play Friday when they host New York.
Although he was talking plenty about this matchup a few weeks ago, Curry now says it’s just another game.
