HOQUIAM, WA (AP) — Hoquiam police say they have arrested a 41-year-old high school teacher for investigation of inappropriate contact with two 12-year-old girls.

KBKW reports that two computers were seized, one at the suspect’s home and the other at the school. He was arrested for investigation of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, a felony.

School Superintendent Mike Parker says the teacher was placed on administrative leave with pay.

The teacher was arrested Wednesday, one day after police launched an investigation.

Police chief Jeff Myers says investigators believe the man began contacting the girls in December. The girls are not his students.

He was booked in Grays County jail, but has not been charged.
