Reid lifts Montana St. over Portland St. 70-65

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Shawn Reid scored 15 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 28 seconds to play, as Montana State beat Portland State 70-65 Thursday night.

Xavier Blount also had 15 points for the Bobcats (11-8, 6-2 Big Sky), who won their fourth straight game. Rod Singleton added 13.

Portland State (10-10, 4-4) got 15 points from Charles Odum, and 11 each from Gary Winston and Michael Harthun.

Montana State trailed 58-43 midway through the second half after the Vikings put together a 22-2 run. The Bobcats answered with a 17-3 run while Portland State went eight minutes without a point.

Montana State capped the comeback by scoring the final eight points of the game. Reid’s 3-pointer put the Bobcats ahead 67-65, and he added a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left before Tre Johnson hit 1 of 2 from the line with 5 seconds remaining to close it out.
