St. Francis (NY) beats St. Francis (Pa) 75-65

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Akeem Johnson scored 22 points and St. Francis (N.Y.) beat St. Francis (Pa.) 75-65 on Thursday night for its first road win against the Red Flash since 2006.

St. Francis (Pa) held an 11-9 lead with 10 minutes left in the first half before Ben Mockford sank a 3-pointer to give the Terriers (10-10, 7-2 Northeast Conference) their first lead and spark a 14-4 run.

Mockford, who finished with 11, had eight points during the run while Johnson added six.

The Red Flash (5-14, 4-4) cut the Terriers lead to four, 23-19, but Johnson converted a three-point play, and Travis Nichols made a trey with 14 seconds left to help St. Francis (NY) take a 37-24 halftime lead.

St. Francis (Pa) outshot St. Francis (NY) from the field 49 percent to 46 percent but the Red Flash committed 22 turnovers, 15 in the first half.
