ILWACO, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a school bus carrying about 20 elementary school students slid into a ditch near Ilwaco in southwest Washington as the driver tried to make a left turn. No one was injured.

The patrol says the Ocean Beach School District bus was northbound Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 101.

The patrol says the 70-year-old driver was cited for having wheels leaving the roadway.

The bus was towed to the school bus yard. The extent of damage was not immediately known.
