AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — King County Animal Control workers have seized more than 70 cats that had been living in a small camper in Auburn, Wash.

KING TV reports (http://is.gd/ttx5s2 ) that the cats and one dog were inside Jerry Reynolds’ camper on the back of his small pick-up truck. A neighbor reported the camper parked near a medical center.

Reynolds says he has been living in the camper for the last five weeks to be closer to his girlfriend, who is hospitalized.

He tells KING he is a breeder from Moses Lake and had no choice but to take his cats with him.

The cats were removed Thursday to be examined by veterinarians.
