TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Officials are asking visitors to Mount Rainier National Park to look out for clues related to four people missing on the mountain since mid-January.
The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/yJaV4Z ) the park is handing out flyers telling visitors to report any physical evidence, though not tracks, of the missing campers and climbers. Park officials, however, are not encouraging visitors to search the mountain’s treacherous backcountry.
An intensive search has turned up no signs of the two parties. The search is no longer active, though several park employees were expected to search the Muir Snowfield Saturday.
Missing are snow-campers Mark Vucich, of San Diego, and Michelle Trojanowski, of Atlanta, and climbers Sork “Erik” Yang, of Springfield, Ore., and Seol Hee Jin, of Korea.
