North Dakota State edges Oakland, Mich., 78-75

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Lawrence Alexander’s 3-pointer with 5 seconds to go lifted North Dakota State to a 78-75 victory over Oakland, Mich., on Saturday night.

Reggie Hamilton hit his sixth 3-pointer to tie it at 75 with 34 seconds left before the Bison (14-7, 7-4 Summit League) worked the clock for Alexander’s winner.

Marshall Bjorklund scored 21 points to lead North Dakota State, which shot 63 percent (29 of 46). Alexander finished with 17 points and Taylor Braun 15 — all on 3-pointers. Eric Carlson had nine rebounds and six assists.

Hamilton went 13 of 25 with his six 3-pointers for 37 points for the Golden Grizzlies (12-12, 6-6). Drew Valentine scored 15 points, and Travis Bader hit four 3-pointers for his 12 points.

The score was tied nine times, the lead changed hands nine times and neither team ever led by more than nine.

The Bison swept the season series.
