Officers checking robbery find 5 dead in Ala. home

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Authorities investigating a robbery at a house in Birmingham have found five people dead in the home.

Sgt. Johnny Williams says officers arrived at the house around 3:30 a.m. Sunday after getting a call that a robbery was in progress. He says the officers soon discovered the five victims inside the building.

The victims were not identified. Williams says police have launched a homicide investigation.

He said there have been no arrests or charges filed in the case.
