Police on Monday identified a pedestrian killed in a Saturday hit-and-run crash in Portland as Jason Lee Grant, 26, of Vancouver.

Grant was hit by a car around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 7000 block of Southeast Foster Road, according to a Portland Police Bureau bulletin. While police were en route, they heard that the car that hit Grant had continued east on Foster. They did not locate the vehicle.

Grant, who lived in the Burnt Bridge Creek area, was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

It appears Grant was crossing the street from the north sidewalk to the south sidewalk and wasn’t in a crosswalk, police said.

The suspect vehicle may be a pickup or SUV with front-end damage and possible hood damage. Officers noticed a large amount of fluid at the scene and think the car could potentially have a damaged radiator as well.

Anyone with information on the vehicle should contact Officer Erik Koppang at erik.koppang@portlandoregon.gov.
