OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The gadgets are voting to adjourn.
The state House completed its floor action prematurely on Wednesday after the electronic method for counting votes stopped working. Rep. Tina Orwall, who was presiding over the chamber, joked that she must have broken the so-called machine.
Lawmakers didn’t have anything urgent on their planner for the day. One bill would allow special license plates for 4-H. A spokeswoman for House Democrats said the voting machine has been fixed but that lawmakers are now in committee hearings and don’t plan to return for floor votes until another day.
The state Senate still votes by voice.
