CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Hurricanes blew a 16-point second-half lead, had three players disqualified and still beat Maryland in double overtime Wednesday, 90-86.
Freshman Shane Larkin scored six points in the second overtime for the Hurricanes, who sank seven of eight free throws in the final 51 seconds to hang on.
Sophomore Terrell Stoglin, who leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring, had a career-high 33 points for Maryland but shot only 9 for 26.
Miami scored the first seven points of the second overtime, including two layups by Larkin.
The Hurricanes (13-7, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) won their third game in a row. Maryland (13-8, 3-4) remained winless this season in four games on opponents’ courts.
