Fenerbahce president convicted over match-fixing

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — A Turkish court has convicted and sentenced Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim to 6 years and 3 months in prison on match-fixing charges.

The court on Monday also convicted several other suspects, including former Giresunspor president Olgun Peker, on similar charges.

However, the court released Yildirim and three other suspects considering the time they spent in jail over the past year.
