CHICAGO (AP) — Texas Rangers left-hander Derek Holland rejoined the team Tuesday and may return from the 15-day disabled list Saturday, though manager Ron Washington has yet to make a final decision.

Holland hasn’t pitched since June 5 due to shoulder fatigue after losing almost 15 pounds over a two-week period due to a stomach virus.

He said he weighed 215 pounds before getting sick, and is back up to 208.

In a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Holland pitched five scoreless innings before being tagged for five runs and three home runs in the sixth. Holland, who is 5-4 with a 5.10 ERA on the year, was given a new contract this spring that lasts through 2016 with options for two more years.
