SEATTLE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles have recalled right-hander Chris Tillman from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned right-hander Steve Johnson back to the minors.

The Orioles made the roster moves before Wednesday’s series finale in Seattle, where Tillman was making his first start of the season.

Tillman was 8-8 with a 3.63 ERA in 16 games with Norfolk this season. This is his first stint with the Orioles in 2012 after throwing in 13 games for the Orioles in 2011.

The Orioles also sent second baseman Brian Roberts back to Baltimore for further examination on his injured groin strain. Manager Buck Showalter said the team wants Roberts to undergo additional test to see if the injury might be located more in his right hip. Roberts was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday.
