Letter: Same-sex couples defended

Same-sex couples defended

I have the following questions for E. Bruce Preece in regards to his June 27 letter, “Strike down same-sex marriage law.” In what way does repealing a same-sex law produce a “stabilizing effect for children?” More importantly, how does same-sex marriage destabilize children in the first place?

Where is the evidence that suggests this phenomenon?

Are there data that show a higher rate of mental illness among children raised by homosexual couples compared to those raised by heterosexual couples? If such evidence exists, then I recommend Preece include some citations in his next letter.

I have failed to find any convincing evidence in my own research that confirms his statements and would be very interested in seeing some. In the interim, however, I’m going to assume that same-sex couples can raise their children just fine.
