NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have reacquired right-hander Chris Schwinden, claiming him off waivers from the Yankees and optioning him to Triple-A Buffalo.

In the last five weeks, Schwinden has been claimed off waivers by Toronto, Cleveland and the Yankees before the Mets got him back Thursday.

Drafted by the Mets in 2008, Schwinden made three appearances — two starts — for New York and was 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA. They designated him for assignment on June 1 and he was claimed by Toronto, setting off his journey.

Schwinden is 4-8 with a 4.31 ERA in 14 minor league starts this year.

The Mets also recalled right-hander Pedro Beato from Triple-A Buffalo after sending righty Jeremy Hefner back to their top minor league club.
