LONDON (AP) — A leading British wrestler ruled out of the London Olympics after failing a drugs test has been handed a two-year ban.

Myroslav Dykun tested positive for amphetamines at the British senior championships in March.

UK Anti-Doping says the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medalist has been banned from the sport until April 29, 2014, with the start of the suspension dating to when he was provisionally suspended.

Dykun was born in Ukraine and moved to Britain in 2003 as part of the country’s initiative to get Eastern European athletes to help homegrown wrestlers develop into medal prospects. British Wrestling then announced the imports would be eligible for the Olympics, angering British-born wrestlers.
