ARC-ET-SENANS, France (AP) — Brice Feillu of France has started the first long time trial of this year’s Tour de France, a 25.8-mile mostly flat stage between Arc-et-Senans and Besancon in the eastern Doubs region.

Riders start in the reverse order of the general classification.

Race leader Bradley Wiggins of Britain will be the last of the 178 riders still in the race to roll off the starting ramp, three minutes after defending Tour champion Cadel Evans.

Wiggins leads Evans by 10 seconds in the overall standings and is expected to gain more time on his Australian rival.

The last time Evans and Wiggins competed in a time trial was at last month’s Criterium du Dauphine. Wiggins finished 1 minute, 43 seconds faster than Evans over the 33.2-mile course
