LONDON (AP) — The coach of English soccer club Liverpool says he is relishing the opportunity to take his squad to Fenway Park later this month, when it plays Italy’s Roma on July 25 as part of the 100-year celebrations of the iconic Boston stadium.
Liverpool is due to embark on an offseason tour of North America and Canada for a trio of exhibition matches.
Coach Brendan Rogers says, “Fenway Park is one of the most prestigious venues in American sport” and adds, “I’m just really looking forward to the experience but there is no pressure in a pre-season game.”
Liverpool will also travel to Canada to play MLS club Toronto FC on July 21 before facing Premier League rival Tottenham Hotspur on July 28 in Baltimore.
