CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers have signed forward Luke Harangody to a $1.1 million contract for next season.

The team made a qualifying offer to the 24-year-old on June 30 and he signed it Wednesday. Harangody averaged 2.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 11 minutes in 21 games last season for Cleveland. He made one start for the Cavs, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds and three steals at Washington on April 14.

The 6-foot-8 former Notre Dame star made 16 starts for Cleveland’s D-League affiliate in Canton. He averaged 19.4 points and 12.6 rebounds.

Harangody was drafted in the second round by Boston in 2010. He was acquired the following year along with center Semih Erden for a second-round pick in 2013.

The Cavs also announced they’ll host Milwaukee in their exhibition opener on Oct. 9 in Canton.
