OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Texas Rangers have activated right-hander Alexi Ogando from the 15-day disabled list, and he is scheduled to be available out of the bullpen for Tuesday night’s game at Oakland.

To clear roster room, Texas placed catcher Yorvit Torrealba on the paternity leave list, which he can stay on for up to 72 hours. Torrealba returned home to Florida to be with wife, Millie, who was expected to give birth soon.

Ogando, a 13-game winner and an All-Star as a starter last season, strained his right groin in his lone start of the season June 10 at San Francisco. He pitched three perfect innings then got hurt running out a bunt single.

The Rangers waited to activate Koji Uehara, who is still experiencing tightness in his lat muscle.
