MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles will be without second baseman Robert Andino for three to four weeks because of an injured left shoulder.

Manager Buck Showalter said before Monday’s game at Minnesota that Andino will be placed on the 15-day disabled list, and the team will recall left-hander Zach Britton to make Tuesday’s start against the Twins. Andino’s MRI test showed no separation but a strain severe enough to keep him out for up to a month.

Andino hurt himself diving in Sunday’s game. In his absence, Steve Tolleson and Ryan Flaherty will share time at second base. Tolleson was in the lineup Monday at Minnesota.

Andino started 67 of Baltimore’s first 88 games.

Showalter also said right-hander Jason Hammel’s arthroscopic right knee surgery went as expected. He’ll miss a month, too.
