VANCOUVER — Participants in this year’s Relay to Life can pledge to make additional efforts in the fight against cancer during a special ceremony.

A special Fight Back ceremony will be held during the relay at 5 p.m. Saturday at Columbia River High School.

Relay For Life events feature individuals and teams camping out near an athletic track or a park while keeping at least one team member on the track at all times throughout the evening.

Anyone wanting to make a pledge can do so during the ceremony or at http://www.vancouverrelay.org.

The Survivors and Caregivers Lap will kick off the 24th Relay For Life of Vancouver at 10 a.m.

Also included in the event is the Luminaria Ceremony, in which illuminated bags line the track, each bearing the name of someone who has fought cancer. The Luminaria Ceremony will start at 10 p.m.
