So Many Ways earns win at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — So Many Ways and jockey Javier Castellano took control inside the sixteenth pole en route to a 1 1/2-length victory over Fully Living in the 94th running of the $150,000 Schuylerville Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on Friday, the traditional opening day feature at Saratoga Race Course.

The Tony Dutrow-trained filly ran six furlongs in 1:11.51 to win her second race in as many starts. She paid $7.60, $4.10 and $2.60. Fully Living returned $3.90 and $2.60 and Baby J, third of six, paid $3 to show. So Many Ways earned $90,000 for owner Maggie Moss.

Earlier on the card, Pacific Ocean, ridden by Joel Rosario, scored a 1 3/4-length victory over Golddigger’s Boy in the $100,000 James Marvin Stakes.

Heavily favored Jackson Bend finished fourth of six.

The 5-year-old, Rick Dutrow-trained Pacific Ocean ran seven furlongs in 1:22.53 and returned $14.20, $7.40 and $7.40. Golddigger’s Boy paid $9.40 and $5.40. Crossbow paid $6.10 to show. Pacific Ocean earned $60,000 for owner Dennis Narlinger.
